Automation & risk disclosure

Template — pending legal review. This text is a working draft and is not yet final legal advice.

In short: automating LinkedIn, Indeed and similar platforms — and creating accounts on them with CAPTCHA solving, rented phone numbers or proxies — may break those platforms' terms of service and can get your accounts limited, restricted or closed. You decide, per platform, whether to accept that risk. You can switch any platform to hand-off cards at any time.

What Applybound automates

Applybound can act on job platforms in three ways ("lanes"):

  1. Official API — submitting through an application interface the platform or applicant-tracking system offers for that purpose.
  2. Your browser session — the job account operator works inside your own logged-in browser session on a platform, filling and submitting forms on your behalf.
  3. Hand-off card — Applybound prepares everything and you submit it yourself. No automation touches the platform.

If you allow it, the job account operator can also create accounts on platforms for you. Account creation can involve solving CAPTCHA challenges through a third-party solving service, renting a phone number to receive a verification SMS, and routing traffic through residential proxies.

The risk

Many platforms, including LinkedIn and Indeed, prohibit or restrict automated access, scraping, automated account creation and the use of proxies or third-party CAPTCHA solving in their user agreements. Using the browser lane or account creation on such a platform:

  • may breach that platform's terms between you and the platform;
  • can lead to warnings, rate limits, verification demands, temporary restrictions or permanent closure of your account on that platform, including loss of connections, messages and history held there;
  • may be detected by the platform even when activity is paced and human-like.

Applybound is not affiliated with, endorsed by or acting for any job platform. We cannot guarantee that any platform will accept automated activity, and we are not responsible for actions a platform takes on your account.

How you stay in control

  • Off by default. Browser automation and account creation are disabled until you switch them on for a specific platform.
  • Consent per platform. Each consent is recorded with the exact statement you saw, the time and your device, and can be withdrawn at any time in Platforms.
  • Hand-off cards instead. Any platform can be switched to hand-off cards: the team still prepares everything, and you press submit.
  • Live hand-off. When a site asks for a check only you can pass, the operator stops and hands you control. One-time codes are never stored.
  • Pacing and budgets. The coordinator paces activity and stays within the daily budget you set.

Costs

CAPTCHA solving, phone-number rental, proxies and browser minutes are supplied by third parties and cost credits. See Pricing for what each item costs.
